Two Months Old

We love to receive updates about our little boy!

Titus has won the hearts of everyone working at The Home of God's Love.
His eyes are so beautiful and brown.
He has so much hair!
He sleeps very peacefully with his hands above his head. Sometimes he can be a little fussy at night.
Titus drinks 120 cc’s (4 oz) about every 3 hours. He is an excellent little eater!
He is still quite small but is growing quickly!
He has developed a pretty bad cough and cold.
He is being cared for along with 21 other brothers and sisters.

Happy Two Months Titus Andrew! We love you and can't wait until you are home.

Titus Andrew Wolfe

To God be the glory for the great things He has done!

What a precious gift of life we are celebrating as we welcome our firstborn son who is waiting for us in Taiwan. We are delighted at the privilege that God has given us to raise a son. Exactly nine months ago today we made the decision to start the adoption process to Taiwan. God certainly has a sense of humor! :)

Titus Andrew was born on February 25, 2010. Titus means "of the giants" and is from the Biblical character Titus. We chose Andrew in honor of Daddy, Kevin Andrew which means "manly warrior". We pray that God would make him into a mighty warrior for His kingdom and a giant in the faith!

69 Days!

I never ever would have believed anyone that would have told me that it would take us 69 days from start to finish to complete our homestudy! It seems like such a cut and dry process. You fill out a BUNCH of papers, gather some official documents, have a physical with your medical doctor, get fingerprinted and have a home visit. No problem, right?!? That is until you realize that the more people and government branches that are involved the more time delays you will have. But I digress...

We are now officially certified to adopt. Woo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!
The Homestudy is the foundation of the whole process. Since this very thorough study is done we can now start to begin the journey of being placed with our child. Today is a very important day...we are legally approved to be parents.

I just finished emailing this very important document to Ted and Bev Skiles. We are overjoyed that this day has finally come and believe that God in His infinite wisdom has a plan for each and every one of the hurdles and delays that we endured.

The home visit is over

We completed our home study visit yesterday! After getting the house organized and being a little nervous for our home study visit, we came to find it was a very enjoyable and pressure free experience! Molly, an intern for Adoption & Beyond was very friendly and relaxed. We'd all like to say that our house is always in perfect order, right? And we've read that the social worker is not looking at your house keeping abilities or how well you decorate, they just want to make sure you have what is necessary and safe to care for a child and also to get to know the family. But, let's face it, who isn't going to go the extra mile to get everything extra clean and organized and make it look like the happiest home-making home ever for your home study?! It's like the difference between when your just having your neighbor stop by for coffee, or when your own mom my is coming to stay. This is like the latter, you do that extra deep dusting and scrubbing and a smile! So, needless to say we've had a busy few weeks! Of course she never even really looked inside the closets, cupboards, showers or under the beds, ha ha! But at least we were prepared for anything. To be honest she did a quick walk through of the house that took less than 3 minutes. Oh well, at least today I can sit back and enjoy my spring cleaned home. :)

God is in control

I am physically and emotionally exhausted! But we know that we have finally done all that we can do. We can now take a step back and watch God move. Today's email from our social worker's office made my heart drop. Part of the homestudy process is being fingerprinted. Well, Kevin's prints came back with no problems. However, they can't read my prints and now they are going to have to do a name check. This process for whatever reason takes twenty, yes 2-0 business days for me to be cleared.

It was not a pretty day in the Wolfe household, I shed more tears over fingerprints and ran scenario after scenario through my head to make this happen in less than twenty days. My sister-in-law, Kate and I were even planning a crazy road trip to Topeka to the KBI's office. :) It won't help. Nothing will. So, now all we do is sit and wait for God's perfect timing. God is in control and He has a plan.

It's Finished!!!

It's a day for celebrating in the Wolfe household, we finished the notebook! I can't believe it. I can't even describe all the emotions I went through as we drove to Adoption & Beyond to hand in our notebook and now I am so excited about the next steps. We have our homestudy visit scheduled for Friday, April 1st. We are one step closer to Baby Wolfe.

One more step done

Kevin and I traveled to the police station this afternoon to be fingerprinted for the KBI. It only took about 15 minutes, and I was impressed by the process. We joked that it's great when you can go to the back of a police station, get fingerprinted, and LEAVE! Neither of us have ever been fingerprinted-probably a good thing. ;) We'll have to be fingerprinted again in Topeka later for immigration purposes, getting permission to bring a foreign adopted orphan into the United States.

6.4 earthquake rocks southern Taiwan today

My sweet sister called me this morning on her way to work that she heard on K-Love radio that an earthquake had rocked Taiwan this morning. Her immediate thought was, "Oh no, my niece or nephew lives there". This truly warmed my heart that her heart too is in Taiwan.

My heart and prayers are in Taiwan, especially right now because I simply do not know. Today I'm claiming Psalms 46:1, "The Lord is our refuge and strength. A very present help in time of trouble.

We are relived that The HOGL was not impacted by the earthquake nor were there any reported deaths in Taiwan due to this earthquake. God is good!!!
